Israelis are getting excited at plans by rock legend Roger Waters to visit Tel Aviv in June.
A founder, singer and bassist of Pink Floyd, Waters was a major part of the band during their golden decades between 1965 and 1985 which included such albums as Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall.
On 22 June he will play at Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv with around 30,000 people crowded to watch him perform from the legendary Dark Side of the Moon Album. The last time, he played Dark Side of the Moon in full was way back in 1974.
The gig in Israel is part of a series of concerts he is doing during June and July and is also the second largest in terms of solo performances he is undertaken, only a concert in France will be for a larger audience.
And Israelis are looking forward to seeing Waters live in concert.
In a recent comment on Waters gracing Israel, Ynetnews writer Guy Benyovits said: "There is no other way to say it, so let it just be said: This will be the most important rock concert ever here in the Holy Land."
He further added: "For tens of thousands of Israelis (maybe more), Roger Waters’ upcoming concert at Tel Aviv's Park Hayarkon is much more important than bringing the messiah."
