Two Israeli films are to be shown as part of the 21st Turin International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
Beginning on 20 April and running until the 27, the annual Italian event also features for its first time an Israeli as a judge with Goel Pinto, the film critic of Haaretz taking part.
In David Deri's documentary 'Say Amen', Deri reveals how he is coming out to his orthodox family. The son of parents who left Morocco for Israel, the film looks at his parents, brothers and sisters and the interaction they all have for each other. After years of his family wondering why he never brings home a girl for shabbat, Deri let them know why. The film was shot over a period of five years.
Maya Kenig’s short film 'Top of the World' is set in Jerusalem and looks at two women who have shared an apartment for two years and with one wanting to leave, explores their living with each and what it meant for both of them.
