Israeli technology firms take 16 places in magazine Red Herring's latest 100 Europe list.
After the UK and France, Israel has the third largest number of businesses listed in the annual report that has been published for 10 years.
Among the biotechnology companies from Israel making the list are D-Pharm and BiolineRX, while Genova which is working on new forms of electricity production including creating it from the remains of olives.
According to Israeli business magazine Globes, Red Herring looked at over 700 European companies before short listing their final 100 and many of the short listed including the Israeli businesses will be taking part at a red Herring conference in Paris taking place today and Tuesday.
