Ben Sahar

With his boy band looks, 16-year-old Ben Sahar has plenty of female admirers but rather than making a career in music, Sahar is one of Israel's brightest football players and has now been given an opportunity to prove himself in England by signing to Chelsea.

Israeli manager Pini Zahavi signed Sahar to the Blues from Hapoel Tel Aviv's youth team for £320,000 following interest from a number of clubs including Arsenal and Tottenham. Eventually he decided to join Roman Abramovich’s Chelsea.

"I feel I can succeed at Chelsea," Sahar told Israeli newspaper Haaretz. "There will be tough moments but I have a strong character and I don't intend to give up. At the end of the day, I will come out stronger and the move to Chelsea will help take my career forward. I have reached a point in my career that I have dreamed about and I don't intend to take a step back."

Sahar caught the attention of Chelsea following his various appearances playing for his country in under 16 international matches.

According to Sahar's former coach Eyal Hayit, the teenager should do well playing in Europe. "He is fast and has fantastic physical ability. He scores 30-40 goals a season and his ball skills are something you don't see here every day."
