Sumo in Israel
|
Thirteen of world's best sumo champions recently visited Israel as part of a tour that aims to strengthen Israel and Japan ties.
The 13, who were guests of Israel visited Jerusalem and some of its most famous sites included the Western Wall.
As well as doing their own spot of tourism, the sumo wrestlers become a bit of a tourist attraction themselves by taking part in special training sessions of Tel Aviv's beach which members of the public could watch.
While at Caesarea's seaside Roman-era amphitheater, the group also showed off their skills in a special sumo night.
The appearance of the sumo wrestlers was a rare occasion in which they leave their home country once every two years.
