Camtrack
Camtrack

Looking for some funky images to show when having a webcam chat with a friend or group of friends? Or maybe you want to add some text to the foreground of your webcam sessions? Maybe you have always wanted a fish to float over your face?

Well, an Israli company has developed software that allows anyone using a webcam to customise their appearance when being viewed by others.

Aloney Aba-based DigitalPeers' CamTrack allows animations to be used as a backdrop to a webcam session.

As well as showing images, the software can also show the music playing on a users computer.

Aimed at a youth audience, the software costs $14.95 to download, while a free trail version shows a watermark. A library of images to use is available for downloading and offers such themes as flags of countries, clocks and comics.

"CamTrack is a powerful webcam add-on for anyone who uses a webcam for one-on-one video chats or one-to-many chat room conversations and Web conferences," said DigitalPeers chief executive  Nir Aides. "CamTrack will bring any conversation to life with animations of airplanes, fish or butterflies fluttering around the user."
