As more and more business is being conducted over the internet, companies without adequate security procedures can be a sitting target for hackers who wish to gain access to their computers and cause serious damage to their business.

Despite much technology out there already to help businesses, Israeli company Applicure has developed dotDefender as a software solution that when deployed on a web host can protect that web host with immediate affect.

It works by looking at the requests that are coming through and can then make sure that when it spots a request which appears to be of dubious purposes, it can block that request from being put to the web server.

The company claims that dotDefender will appeal to not just small and medium sized businesses but also large.

"What is required is solid security for organizations of any size, which at the same time is simple enough that it can be implemented as a turnkey solution. With dotDefender, the solution is now available," says Omer Golan, VP Marketing and Business Development at Applicure.

Founded in 2003, the company is based in Herzliya.
