If you are looking to make and receive phonecalls through your computer using VOIP, an Israeli company has developed technology that plugs in through the USB connection that not only allows VOIP calls to be made, but regular calls as well.
Voxelle, based in Netanya has developed the VL2820 device that offers access to services such as Google Talk, Skype and Yahoo Messenger as well as being able to also make and receive regular phonecalls.
By using an existing analogue modem that is still common in many computers, Voxelle is able to deliver more than just VOIP communication.
"We believe that the benefits of leveraging existing modems that reside today on almost every PC will enable users to better utilize VoIP services while reducing their required investment," said Ronen Bartal, vice president of product marketing and development.
As well as offering products for home users, Voxelle develops VOIP products for the SoHo market targeting small and medium businesses.
Voxelle itself does not actually manufacture its products, but rather works with other brands such as USRobotics that will use its technology in their products which are then usually manufactured across the Far East.
